You know that
sin(0) = 0
cos(0) = 1
tan(0) = 0
sec(0) = 1
cot(0) = infinity
Thus, the numerator approaches 3 when x is very small. You can easily see that when
x ---> 0, the value of the numerator increases a lot in absolute value. However, since we have -(cot(x))^2 , it means that the limit of the function, as x tends to 0, is -infinity.
(The exponential simply approaches -1, but this doesn't alter the above result).
